We Long To See Our Lord

“And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was

crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him. But go your

way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see

Him, as He said unto you” (Mark 16:6-7). Go and tell His disciples and Peter: the

absolute mercy of God, sending an angel to encourage Peter—there you will see Him as

He told you! Peter denied Him three times as our Savior prophesied. Judas sold Him to

the Romans for thirty pieces of silver. Both were remorseful. The vast difference is that

Peter went out and wept bitterly over his sin. Judas killed himself. Jesus’ death on the

cross was sufficient for healing and forgiveness for both. Peter will see Him. Judas will

not. Oh Lord, we long to see You!
