“Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart

to fear Thy Name” (Psalm 86:11). In this Psalm, David fervently

prays to God, expressing his desire to unite his heart in fear and

devotion to Him. It is a longing plea for a singleness of heart that

can no longer be divided and distracted by other worldly desires.

This concept holds great significance not only in David’s prayer but

also for us as the body of Christ. Just imagine the impact if we all

functioned with a singleness of heart toward our Savior. It would

mean our focus, allegiance, and devotion would be solely fixed on

loving and serving Jesus with every fiber of our being.
