There Is Still Room

“Then said He unto him, ‘A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready’” (Luke 14:16-17). In this parable, our Lord sent His servant to tell those invited to the banquet, “It is now ready.” It’s suppertime. However, most made excuses why they couldn’t come. Excuses upon excuses. The servant went back to report this to the master. Angered, he told the servant to go into the streets, lanes, alleys and to bring the crippled, poor, blind, and lame. He responded, “Lord, it’s done. As you have commanded, yet there is room.” Remember, His work is finished, but ours is not.
