“The Great I Am”

Who is Jesus to the church? He is our manna in the wilderness: “I am the Bread of life.”

During the darkness, He says, “I am the Light of the world.” For our safety, He beckons,

“I am the Door of the sheep.” For our guidance, Jesus calls, “I am the Good Shepard.”

When we feel hopeless of the future, Jesus comforts with “I am the Resurrection and the

Life.” When confusion sets in, He says “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” To keep

us from trusting in ourselves, Jesus reminds, “I am the True Vine.” Finally, Jesus knows

the beginning from the end: “Before Abraham was, I AM.”
