Let's Focus

Happy New Year Church Family! I strongly believe as I encourage you that in this

coming year we need to grow in God’s Words. Ephesians 6:10-11 says, “Finally, my

brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of

God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” I am reminding you,

soldier of the cross, that our heavenly Commander in Chief has given us supernatural

power because of His victory on the Cross over the world, the flesh, and the devil. The

Apostle Paul tells us that we cannot ignore spiritual warfare nor Satan’s schemes and

devices. We must suit up and prepare to do battle because the attacks are imminent. If

our faith is in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, we will recognize these snares and

temptations that confront us everyday. Being opposed to the Gospel, our enemy will

distract and hinder our lives as well. Romans 10 reminds us that faith comes by hearing

and hearing by the Word of God. Yet how can we fight a spiritual battle without a

sword? Why are we constantly living defeated lives when the Word of God declares that

we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us? Let us pray for a hunger for

God’s word this coming year, and then He will adjust our focus.
