A Heart Touched by the Master

1 Peter 1:22 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit

unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart

fervently.” Through the Spirit, everything the child of God desires to accomplish

needs to be through the Spirit. Obeying the truth, simply put, is obeying the Gospel. As

we do this, the Holy Spirit is at work in our hearts and is producing a change. The moon

cannot radiate light in itself: all the light comes from the sun. Likewise, all our love

comes from God, and it reflects in our hearts as we continue to obey from the heart that

form of doctrine once delivered unto us. This produces a God-like love that is not

generated from us but from our Lord. It’s pure. It’s genuine, and it is a love out of a heart

that Jesus has changed and is changing. See that you love one another with a pure heart.

When this takes place, a lost and dying world can truly see that we are His disciples

indeed.
